Lets talk about the designers who have the ability to design the die line as well as the graphics. Having these abilities is what sets this business apart from all the other Package Design Firms. Clients who work with us realize the added business cost savings that we can bring to their table. It may cost more upfront, but you will save a great deal on the back end with less revisions and wasted time. Let me explain:
The structure of your package is important from a marketing standpoint for sure, but more importantly from a functionality and manufacturing capability. It doesn’t matter how ‘different’ your structure is from the rest on the shelf; if it doesn’t function, people will not return to the product. Below is a great example of a fully functional, simple structure, that makes a statement.
Dietz and Watson was looking for change. They didn’t want the standard sausage sleeve that nearly every other manufacture does and change is what we gave them. The simple concept of creating a die cut at the top of the sleeve, in the shape of their logo, sets them apart from the rest of those on the shelf. Not only do they have a fancy die cut which most don’t have, it’s a display piece of their logo that sets them higher then the competition, literally. In this instance, a graphic designer was already contracted for the artwork so we did not create the graphics, however, we worked closely with the designer to ensure the artwork reflected this. Communicating and understanding structure AND graphics as well as having the ability to do both is a huge asset to the client. At any point during a project, we can step in and manage every aspect of the packaging – time is money.
SNEAK PEAK: As of late, we are working on another project! — We created both the structure as well as the graphics. It hasn’t hit the market shelves yet, so we don’t want to leak the design, but we will be positing in the near future structure layouts, graphics as well as my creative process behind the madness.
Until then…
