Ben’s Chili Bowl

Ben’s Chili Bowl

There is no doubt Ben’s Chili Bowl is one of the hot spots of Washington DC. Dishes come and go, but there is for sure a standard at Ben’s. Their signature, chili half-smoke, half pork and half beef smoked sausage on a steamed bun smothered in spicy homemade chili sauce, mustard and onions. The Washington staple has been around since the late 50’s and is a famous name all around town.

Why not package this delicious goodness from Ben’s and sell it in stores was the thought? Here at Paper Roo Package Design and Branding we are all about building brands in the retail market. Ben’s Manufacturing Team came to us and asked for a design that reflected their southerns style while still keeping the Ben’s brand alive while accentuating their yellow and red known branded colors since the 50’s. We wanted to spice it up and bit with a simplistic modern look and add a touch of the South. Boxes were printed on 18pt SBS board, ran CMYK + aqueous coating to give those colors an added punch.

Overall, the package had amazing response! Production of the box completed late June and product can now be found in the surrounding DC area. If you are in town, stop by Ben’s Chili Bowl – it will warm your soul!
